TBA-100S

The TBA-100S is a

Stacked Tri-Band

Quadrifilar Helical Antenna.

Comprised of three separate antennas, the TBA-100S has the following specifications:

 

  • Each antenna is slightly more than an octave separated from its neighbor.

  • Each antenna is designed to be a three-quarter quadrature helical antenna

  • Each antenna is specified to have a +1 dBi Right Hand Circular Polarized gain at +20 Degrees Elevation.

  • The antennas are securely fastened inside a cylindrical enclosure:

    • Diameter is less than 7 inches

    • Overall length is less than 7 feet

  • Coaxial cables terminated with SMA Male connectors are provided for each antenna.  The length is sufficient to connect to in-line amplifiers.

  • The TBA100S is capable to be used as a receive or a transmit antenna

  • Receive Antenna Features

    • Hemispheric radiation pattern above 20 degrees elevation

    • Low Antenna Noise Temperature for excellent G/T, figure of merit 

  • Transmit Antenna Features

    • Hemispheric radiation pattern above 20 degrees elevation

    • Capable of accepting transmitter power of 50 watts

  • This antenna will be useful to receive small satellite signals shortly after launch without the need for antenna tracking positioning equipment and associated tracking software
